Our Amateur Bodybuilder of the Week was...
Andrew Vu
How Did You Get Started?
My first competition was in 2008 it was the Ronnie Coleman Classic. I received 7th place in that contest as a light weight, I weighed in at 135 lbs. I really didn't know what I was doing since it was just a learning experience, and I learned a whole lot from it! I just recently competed in the Ronnie Coleman Classic 2010 and received 1st place in the Open Light Weight Division.
What Workout Plan Worked Best For You?
I usually warm up on the bike for 10 minutes. My work out schedule usually depends on how I feel, sometimes 3 days on 1 off and sometimes 6 days on 1 off.

What Supplements Have Given You The Greatest Gains?
I mainly use any Whey Isolate Protein due to the fact that you absorb more of the protein and it is a much higher quality protein. I also use Waxy Maize in the Off-Season during and post work out.
Why do you love Bodybuilding?
I was always fascinated by bodybuilding and what it has to offer, the healthy life style and the addicting gym life. Bodybuilding helps and inspires me to become a better person in general. Plus, I've never won anything in my life and to win is a great feeling.
What Motivates You To Follow A Healthy Lifestyle?
The way I look in the mirror every morning motivates me to follow a healthy lifestyle whether it may be in the off season or contest prep, gaining lean quality mass or leaning up and losing body fat. I recommend everyone who loves bodybuilding to follow a healthy lifestyle. My girlfriend, family, and friends play a big role in my life.
What Made You Want To Achieve Your Goals?
I have always had a positive attitude about things. Once I have my mind set on a goal, I don't think there has ever been any obstacle I wasn't able to overcome. It makes it easier when you have the support and encouragement from the ones you care about.
What Are Your Future Bodybuilding Plans?
I just competed in the Ronnie Coleman Classic 2010. Two years later of learning and teaming up with one of the best trainers I know, Jonathan Irizarry - who is the Light-Heavy weight 2009 Teen National's Champ, I took home the first place trophy in the Open Light Weight Division. I plan on improving my upper body, mainly my back. Now that I am nationally qualified, I might do the Jr. USA's depending on how my college courses go.
What One Tip Would You Give Other Bodybuilders?
Never give up your goals; they are all achievable. If you cheat during your diet you're only cheating yourself. : )
Who Are Your Favorite Bodybuilders?
Ronnie Coleman, Kai Greene, Kevin Levrone, and Arnold.
What Features Do You Use On Bodybuilding.com?
I like to read the Forums on Bodybuilding.com mainly the Contest Prep and Food forums.
