How Did You Get Started?
A trainer at my gym approached me and asked if I had ever thought about competing and I told him, "Yes!" I have been considering it for years but just never thought it was something I could really do.
What Workout Plan Worked Best For You?
When I first started training what worked best was training each body part twice a week. My splits were: I would only train hamstrings and calves on my second leg day that week. I found I was able to put on some muscle and lean out pretty quickly closer to my show. What Nutrition Plan Has Worked Best For You?
Basically being as consistent as possible and trying to incorporate a lot of creativity and spices so my food wasn't plain and boring. I eat clean and try to stay on track so I don't have a ton of cardio to do leading up to a show.
What Supplements Have Given You The Greatest Gains?
I would have to say my Allmax Protein shakes! I love them and am able to still take in my protein requirements if I don't have a lot of time to sit down for a meal. It also works great used for a protein pancake.
I also use Glutamine, salmon oil capsules, vitamin B12, BCAA and a good multivitamin. Why Do You Love Fitness?
I love the confidence and control it enables me to have. I can also say nothing is a better stress reliever than a good workout. And an early morning cardio session gives me a positive outlook on my day! What Are Your Future Bodybuilding Plans?
I plan on competing next spring in a few shows including the Fitness America Pageant in June. I am also thinking about entering a figure competition for the first time. What One Tip Would You Give Other Fitness Competitors?
The tip I would give is simply don't give up, set a goal for yourself and attain it. If you want it bad enough, you'll succeed.
Who Are Your Favorite Fitness Competitors/Bodybuilders?
I just love Monica Brant and Jessica Paxson-Putnam. They have amazing physiques and I aspire to attain that level of dedication and fitness someday.
