Our Amateur Bodybuilder of the Week was...
Anthony Catanzaro
How Did You Get Started? I started working out at the age of 15. I used to watch a lot of wrestling, and I was infatuated with Hulk Hogan. When he used to say "train, say your prayers, and eat your vitamins...I listened! From that point on, great things started to happen. I began modeling at 18, and started competing when I was 26, and the rest is history! What Workout Plan Worked Best For You?
What Supplements Have Given You The Greatest Gains? I am a true believer in Designer Protein. It was one of the first Whey Proteins out on the market in 1993. I like to have 2 shakes a day. Another supplement that has given me great gains is Glutamine, it is a great supplement for workout recovery and also aids in keeping your immune system healthy. I also love Vitamin C, I take 1000 mgs daily. Why do you love Bodybuilding? I love the sport of bodybuilding because like an artist, you can sculpt you physique into a great work of art. I also believe that strengthening the body, also strengthens the mind. This is what makes me love the sport when I'm working out, everything that's stressful in my life just seems to be put aside for while. It's the greatest therapy. What Are Your Future Bodybuilding Plans? I plan on competing with new and more exciting shows this year. The better the show the better the contestants. I am also planning a lot of modeling shoots for new magazines, catalogs, etc. What One Tip Would You Give Other Bodybuilders?
Who Are Your Favorite Bodybuilders? Well that's easy, there are many that look great, but my all time favorites are Arnold & Steve Reeves for back then, and Flex Wheeler & Gunther of today. Web Site Check out Anthony's web site at anthonycatanzaro.com.

Basically, I did a lot of trial and error. Heavy weights with low reps,
I've tried all types of machines and fancy methods, but learned very quickly
that the "OLD SCHOOL WAY", is best for gaining muscle the quickest and the
safest way. Your body is not as restricted in movement, as it is with the
machines. I train 6 days a week, and I split my leg workouts in half. I
also train abs every other day.
Train hard and stay off the drugs. You don't have to look like Mr. Olympia
to look good. Many bodybuilders focus on added size but never stop to look
at their symmetry, that's the whole key to a great body. You must always
look for balance in muscle definition. I see it all the time, the bigger
guys losing to the more "ripped" guys. Remember the more defined you are
the bigger you will look TRUST ME!
