How Did You Get Started?

Growing up my dad and I spent many Saturday nights watching wrestling. I
have been amazed by muscular bodies ever since. I knew very young I wanted
to sculpt my body into art. I picked up my first dumbbell in my brother's
home gym at the age of 12 and then became addicted to training at 19.
In
2002, the age of 22, I knew I wanted to be competitive in the industry and I
wanted more of a challenge, so I set a date to compete - The Fall of 2004!
In November, I stepped on stage in my very 1st Figure Competition! Now I am
hooked and can't wait to bring my best self to the stage again in '05!
What Workout Plan Worked Best For You?
I was blessed with good genetics and a mesomorph structure; I am lucky to be
able to put size fairly easy. I believe it's essential to learn what works
for your structure and build upon that ...always have a plan and always be
learning! I make the best gains from training body parts 1x per week;
however right now I am in the process of bringing down my legs therefore I
am doing a lower body circuit 3x a week of very high reps and little weight.
For Upper Body I lift heavy for my compound exercises, and moderate weight
for isolation exercises. I love using my own bodyweight to sculpt my
physique, so wide grip pull ups and push ups are stables in my everyday warm
up.
What Nutrition Plan Has Worked Best For You?
I eat clean year round. Depending on what my goals are whether they are to
add size or to cut, my coach will adjust my calories and my macronutrient
ratios. Off-season is a 40/40/20 protein/carb/fat ration while On Season is
50/30/20 switching to 60/30/10 the final 2 weeks of prep. I eat 5-6x a day,
every 2-3 hrs and drink at least 4L of H20 daily. What Supplements Have Given You The Greatest Gains?

I always use Protein Powder and Universal's Animal Pak!
Why Do You Love Fitness?
Fitness is my soul food! I feel at my best when I am training. A healthy
mind, body and soul keeps you positive, healthy and strong...both mentally
and physically.
What Are Your Future Fitness Plans?
I intend to keep working hard on building a better body, and competing a lot more in the near future.
What One Tip Would You Give Other Fitness Competitors?
Compete for you! Compete because it's your passion! Compete because your
heart wants you to! Remember to always be real and to always have fun!
Who Are Your Favorite Fitness Competitors/Bodybuilders?
Monica Brant is my all time favorite. Not only because her physique is
amazing, but because she is the best business woman in the industry.
