Our Amateur Bodybuilder of the Week was...
Christopher Mitchell
How Did You Get Started? I started working out in February of 1996 in order to get bigger and stronger for High School baseball. My body changed so quickly that people started asking me if I competed as a bodybuilder. I didn't at the time, but started reading every bodybuilding book and magazine there was and then fell in love with bodybuilding. I ended up retiring from baseball and began bodybuilding 100%.
What Workout Plan Worked Best For You? Over the last 12 years if I had to choose just one workout routine that worked best, I would have to say that the 20 rep squat routine was an absolute killer. I would train just three days per week, only doing the basic compound movements.
What Nutrition Plan Has Worked Best For You? Here is the nutrition plan that works great for me that I am following now. It gives me energy, helps me burn body fat, and increases my strength all at the same time:
Meals 2: Meal 3: Meals 4: Meal 5: Meals 6:
What Supplements Have Given You The Greatest Gains?
Why Do You Love Bodybuilding? I love bodybuilding because it helps me relieve stress, teaches me to set goals, improves my self confidence, increases my energy, keeps me looking/feeling young, prevents colds, flu's, and diseases, and allows me to be a positive role model for others by living a healthy lifestyle. What Are Your Future Bodybuilding Plans? I have graced the covers of many bodybuilding magazines, catalogs, and postcards in the past, so, my future goals are to continue working out and living a healthy lifestyle and sharing my passion with others about the benefits of what bodybuilding can do for them.
What One Tip Would You Give Other Bodybuilders? The one tip I would like to give other bodybuilders is to stay away from Steroids, Growth Hormone, and Insulin. Bodybuilding is a healthy addition to a person's life. However, steroids are not healthy by any means whatsoever. They are illegal, have numerous side effects, change your attitude completely, and don't allow you to become who you truly can become by training naturally. Believe in yourself, train hard, set goals, and never give up. You can build some serious strength and size without drugs. I've proven that.
Who Are Your Favorite Bodybuilders? My favorite bodybuilders of all time are drug free champions Chris Faildo, Skip La Cour, and my brother Andrew Mitchell. Not only are they amazing bodybuilders, but, they are also world class human beings with a passion of helping others. More Bodybuilder Profiles:
