How Did You Get Started?

As a teenager I was inspired to begin weight training by the television show, Body Shaping. I had always been athletic, but the look of the girls' physiques such as Carla Dunlap and Keana Tom was something I aspired to achieve. It wasn't until recently, with the introduction of the figure division in the N.P.C., that I decided to fulfill one of my life time goals and began competing.

What Workout Plan Worked Best For You?

Through the years I've experimented with many different approaches towards training. My body responds best to high volume training (sets, reps and # of exercises) with as much weight as possible. For example, while training shoulders I may choose to perform up to 6 different exercises with the reps ranging from as low as 8 to as high as 25, hehe, this is some workout. :) While preparing for a contest I only do cardio for the first few weeks and basically allow the diet to work and get me in the best shape possible. During the off-season I'll do cardio 2 days a week help keep me in shape.

What Supplements Have Given You The Greatest Gains?

Labrada's Lean Body, Dymatize Elite Whey Protein, VPX Liquid Clenbutrex and R-ALA. Together these supplements helped me develop the physique I have today.

Why Do You Love Fitness?

The fitness lifestyle is an extremely rewarding one, not only for the obvious reasons (the sense of accomplishment through competition), but simply the way I feel each and every day. You just have a great sense of well being. It's also very challenging, whether you set a short term goal within your workout or a longer term goal while preparing for a contest, you're always trying to improve. Also, if I want to indulge in my favorite foods, pizza and ice cream, then I can and I won't even feel guilty. That's what I love most :)!

What Are Your Future Bodybuilding Plans?

Let's see, I have so many plans and goals for myself, hehe. Just this past weekend I competed at the Junior Nationals in Chicago. Although there are no strict guidelines for the judges to follow most of the girls are working real hard and developing beautiful physiques. Therefore, I will return to the gym and continue to develop the best physique possible so that I earn my pro card in Figure. I would like to make myself more available to sites like yours, nutrition companies and the magazines so I can express the many benefits of training to everyone. Also, I'm in the process of putting together my own web site to get closer to those interested in this lifestyle.

What One Tip Would You Give Other Fitness Competitors?

NEVER doubt yourself, never give up and never have regrets!! If you have any type of goal, go after it no matter what it is, or how long it takes to reach, you will be happy that you did it. This is on of my favorite quotes:

"Life is like a coin. You can spend it any way you wish, but you only spend it once."

Who Are Your Favorite Fitness Competitors/Bodybuilders?

I admire Jenny Worth's physique, Monica Brant, Heather Lee, and Lenda Murry.
