Our Amateur Bodybuilder of the Week was...
Victor Delcampo
How Did You Get Started? I had always dreamed of having a body like the ones I saw in the comics and as a young boy was a big fan of The Hulk. I remember flexing in the mirror as a young boy and thinking I had what it takes. I would do push ups every night before bed. I was always driven but it wasn't until I was 22 that I was introduced to the sport by the owner of my gym. That's when I realized that I could really live my dreams. I haven't looked back since and I don't plan on stopping till I reach my goals. What Workout Plan Worked Best For You? Basically I try to hit each muscle group once a week in a way that allows for optimum rest. Knowing how certain muscles tie into others is essential for doing this. (For example I don't work tris and then try to work chest the next day). Also I stick to 12 sets per muscle group, 4 exercises, 3 sets, 12-15 reps always. I usually workout 6 days a week and never use the same split more then two weeks in a row to keep the muscles guessing.
![]() What Supplements Have Given You The Greatest Gains? Definitely protein, a good multivitamin, glutamine and ZMA.
Why Do You Love Bodybuilding? What Are Your Future Bodybuilding Plans? I just won the 2003 Jr. USA (bantam class). I am going to focus all my energy this year into getting ready for the NPC Nationals. I placed 9th last year and I want to improve on that. Also I would like to pick up a good sponsor. Eventually I would like to get on stage with the big boys in the IFBB and be the next little big man. What One Tip Would You Give Other Bodybuilders? Believe in yourself. If you see someone in the gym who looks good, don't be afraid to ask him what he is doing. Also stick to the basics. They worked for Arnold and they are working for me. Stay away from all those silly grips. Don't get discouraged! Bodybuilding is a sport that takes time and dedication. I've always said consistency is the key.
![]() ![]() Who Are Your Favorite Bodybuilders? Ahmed Haider, Chris Cormier, Gunter, and Levrone.

Simple. I love to workout. I need to everyday. It's hard to take a day off, but I know I have to. I love to diet. When I eat clean I feel so good and the results only make the diet that much better. And finally the competitive part of bodybuilding has got to be the best part of all. I love to compete and this is my sport.
