Our Amateur Bodybuilder of the Week was...
Dorian Haywood
How Did You Get Started? I wanted to excel is wrestling, so I took up weight training to go stronger. I would read muscle magazines to study training strategies. I ended my wrestling career, but my work ethic stuck. I loved the way my body developed and the science behind what was happening.
What Workout Plan Worked Best For You?
I always pyramid my weight from light to heavy and do at least 3-4 different exercises for my large muscle groups.
What Nutrition Plan Has Worked Best For You?
Meal 2: Meal 3: Meal 4: Meal 5: Meal 6: Sometimes I Will Throw A Bunch Of Broccoli In There As Well.
What Supplements Have Given You The Greatest Gains?
Why Do You Love Bodybuilding? I am in control of my own destiny here, and the sky is the limit. You can only blame your self for not meeting your fitness goal. At the same time you get to give yourself a huge pat on the back when you achieve, it is a sense of physical and mental accomplishment. No matter how far along you are as a bodybuilder, one can always find something about their physique which can be enhanced naturally. I also get great stress relief. What Are Your Future Bodybuilding Plans? Winning the Yorton cup this year and eventually winning the NPC Team Universe and earning my IFBB pro card. In terms of what I would like to achieve with my physique, I cannot wait to get off of my contest diet and put on some bulk. I want to compete at the Team Universe between 200 and 205 lbs. So I want to get bulked up to 215-220 lbs.
What One Tip Would You Give Other Bodybuilders? Consistency is key! If you want maximum gains give your body the nutrients it needs on a consistent basis. Bodybuilding success lies in nutrition. I would say nutrition is 70% of the game, where training is 30%. I am not saying you can eat properly but still be a slouch in the gym. Of course, if you want maximum results from your training regimen you need to stimulate as many muscle fibers as possible. Who Are Your Favorite Bodybuilders? Arnold for being an awesome role model and ambassador to the sport, Dexter for not ruining his physique by putting on too much mass, Tito Raymond for keeping it natural and motivating me, Frank Zane, Mike Mentzer, Franco Columbu, Dave Lipperd for getting me started in this awesome sport, and Dave Palumbo for helping with my contest prep.
