How Did You Get Started? My fiancé is a bodybuilder/boxer and seeing him get ready for a show really inspired me to challenge myself. I was at one of his shows where Kelly Ryan was guest posing and seeing her made me realize that I needed to make some changes in my life. Being a personal trainer, my fiancé started training me and as we started seeing results, he kept telling me that he thought I had what it took to compete. Throughout the course of getting ready for my first show, I had a couple of injuries and setbacks that were somewhat discouraging. My fiancé stood behind me all the way and reassured me that I was going to do great and no matter what, he was proud of me! I did my first show last year and won, now I have the BUG to turn PRO! Working each body part heavy once a week about 8 weeks out and 4 weeks out, training each body part with lighter weight/more reps twice a week with cardio 6 days a week.
I am currently training to compete at the Southern States show in Florida this August and then I will be getting ready to do Nationals in Miami, Florida this November. My hopes are to become the first Pro Figure competitor from Alabama and compete with Jenny Lynn and Monica Brandt and rank in the tops with them.
