Our Amateur Bodybuilder of the Week was...
Joe Franco
How Did You Get Started? As a teenager, my brother was a competing in shows and I use to help him prepare. I used weight training to get ahead in sports and I loved the results. Therefor, I continue to workout and started to compete. What Workout Plan Worked Best For You? I rarely stick to one workout plan. During the offseason I try to get strong so I do a more intense but short routine, usually a three day split (day 1: chest, delts & tri's; day 2: legs; day 3: back, trap & bi's) with one day of cardio. In preparation for a contest I do a four day split (day 1 chest & tri's, day 2 quads & bi's; day 3: delts & calves; and day 4: back & hams). With three days of cardio.
What Supplements Have Given You The Greatest Gains? Creatine and a good whey protein. Why do you love Bodybuilding?
The freedom of settings goals and the ability to express your hard work to others.
What Are Your Future Bodybuilding Plans? I would like to compete again next year, the summer of 2000. Even though I didn't compete this past year I did a few photo shoots in which I had to get in shape for. What One Tip Would You Give Other Bodybuilders? Stay consistent, stay focused and listen to your body. Who Are Your Favorite Bodybuilders?
Lou Ferrigno and anyone who competes without the use of drugs.
