How Did You Get Started?

I started working out after my daughter was born 16 years ago. I wanted to get back into shape. When I decided to pick up a couple dumbbells I loved the results I was seeing. I could see my body changing, my muscles growing, and I was leaning down. I read a lot about bodybuilding and kept working out, and became even more in love with building muscle.

I love the look of a muscular female. I also love competing...being able to show off what I have created is an incredible feeling. I believe that anyone can achieve a lean muscular body, and at any age. I love trying to create a naturally, beautifully sculpted physique. bodybuilding has become my passion!

What Workout Plan Worked Best For You?

I train at home in my home gym...and I love it! I used to be a gym member, but I wanted to be able to have access to my own equipment at any time. I train first thing in the morning at an early hour of 2am...this way I get all my training in before I go to work, and to have my evening free for my family, my husband Randy and our two children, Evan 19 and Emily 16.

I am doing the "Variation Cycling Workout". I cycle to keep the muscles guessing and not stale.

  • Week One: Heavy, 4-6 reps
  • Week Two: Medium, 8-12 reps
  • Week Three: Supersets Medium, 8-12 reps
  • Week Four: Begin cycle again at Week 1

I also include 30 min of cardio 6 days a week. For my cardio session I use the elliptical and treadmill. The elliptical is low impact for the knees, and it can be used for HIIT. The TM is great for HIIT, walking, and inclines.

The reps in my workout routine are listed according to the current week in my workout cycle. Heavy/Medium

Day 1: Back
Day 2: Biceps/Triceps
Day 3: Off

Day 4: Chest/Abs
Day 5: Legs
Day 6: Shoulders/Abs
Day 7: Off

What Nutrition Plan Has Worked Best For You?

I am doing a carb cycling diet on the following schedule:

  • Mon/Tues/Wed: Low Carb
  • Thurs/Fri/Sat: High Carb
  • Sun: Moderate Carb

Why do you love Bodybuilding?

I love the look of a muscular female and the dedication and hard work that goes into creating a lean muscular physique. I love the challenge I put on myself to improve each time I train and for each time I continue with my goal knowing that a clean diet and consistent weight training will create a healthy muscular body.

I also want to be a role model for all females, mothers, men, children, and everyone at any age. I want to lead by example that health and being strong and fit is a gift that you give to yourself. I love trying to create a naturally, beautifully sculpted physique. Bodybuilding has become my passion!

What Motivates You To Follow A Healthy Life Style?

I am motivated by the power I have on myself and how I can change and keep a strong healthy body by being dedicated to the knowledge that a clean diet and weight training will bring a healthy body. Each time I train I know I am doing right by me. And not only for me, but for my family, my husband and children, I want to live a long healthy life for them. I am also motivated by other female bodybuilders. I view their sculpted bodies as a work of art.

What Made You Want To Achieve Your Goals?

The amazing feeling I get from being dedicated with my discipline of this sport. Seeing results and changes brings me to go for more. Passion, Power and Energy keep me going for my goals.

What Are Your Future Bodybuilding Plans?

My plans are to do another competition in the fall of 2011 or spring of 2012. My other plan is to continue to be dedicated to bodybuilding...to continue to diet healthy for many many years!

What One Tip Would You Give Other Bodybuilders?

Be true to yourself! Love yourself! Nothing is better than a fit body. Be consistent, be dedicated! Train, Rest, Eat!

Who Are Your Favorite Bodybuilders?

There are so many female bodybuilders that I admire. Many of them give me the drive to continue to push forward, and I use their committed passion as an inspiration. I must say that the first female bodybuilder that caught my attention and brought me to where I am today is the late Negrita Jayde. I viewed her physique as amazing, strong, sculpted, beautiful hard muscles, and an impeccable work of art, something that I wanted to be and create for myself.

The muscular feminine physique is one that I admire, because I know what it takes to create such a body. Anyone who pushes through with the desire and drive no matter how hard it is, is an inspiration to me.
