How Did You Get Started?
I have been active most of my life and spent 10 years in gymnastics and then took those skills into cheerleading throughout high school. Even though I was active, I ate horribly because proper nutrition was never fully explained to me. After graduating from high school I joined the Air Force and that is when I started to learn a little more about healthy eating and new methods of exercising.
However, it was not until I met my friend and now coach and personal trainer, Kalene Smith, that my passion for health and fitness was ignited to a whole new level. Through this friendship I learned how to truly eat right with a complete balanced diet along with innovative exercise techniques.

What Supplements Have Given You The Greatest Gains?
Dymatize Elite Whey Protein. I always consume this as my post-workout meal along with oats.
Why Do You Love Fitness?
I like a challenge, structure, and discipline. Bodybuilding provides all of this. This is also the first time in my life I have ever been truly happy with my body. What's exciting is now that I have more knowledge on nutrition and training; I will be able to continue improving and making gains. I can't wait to see what level I can take it to for my next competition!
What Motivates You To Follow A Healthy Lifestyle?
I feel amazing and have the energy to do everything I want and need to do on a daily basis. But most of importantly, I have confidence. That is so important in all areas of life from relationships, to friendships, to work, school, and all other things you may be trying to accomplish. These things alone keep me going because now I feel I couldn't live any other way.
What Made You Want To Achieve Your Goals?
I'm going to school for nursing and don't want to become one of the overworked, overweight nurses that I see all the time who are supposed to be role models for the health care industry. Patients don't take an unhealthy nurse seriously when they are trying to give advice and are not even following it themselves. I was also motivated to finally make the change I had wanted when I met Kalene and saw how fit, energetic, and confident she was. I wanted that too.
What Are Your Future Bodybuilding Plans?
Besides maintaining my new healthy-ideal weight, hitting the gym on a daily basis, and eating clean, I plan on competing in 2-3 bikini competitions per year. Bodybuilding is addicting and I look forward to challenging my body and seeing how fit I can really get.
What One Tip Would You Give Other Fitness Competitors?
Don't ever give up! You've probably heard this before, but remember that anything worth having is hard to get. You have to find intrinsic and extrinsic motivation and do it for yourself and no one else. Keep in mind how rewarding it will be in so many different aspects of life. Treat your body with respect and it will respect you back.
There is a plethora of health benefits of a lifestyle change beyond the physical. Also remember that, a moment on your lips...is a lifetime on your hips! Lastly, and probably the most important in my opinion, be patient. If you don't have patience, pray for it. Prayer is powerful. That became more than one tip but all are important!
Who Are Your Favorite Fitness Competitors/Bodybuilders?
