How Did You Get Started?

I did competitive gymnastics for about 11 years and retired from that due to a back injury. After that I took time off and figured what else would be interesting for me to do as far as strength, acrobatics and performing. Last year I trained at the Cirque Du Soleil school up in Quebec for about a year and finally decided after reading so many bodybuilding and fitness magazines that I just have to start competing in the fitness division... it's my niche! Right now I have so many goals for myself in this sport and I feel its totally necessary for me to start out at my age so I can do it for a long time.

What Workout Plan Worked Best For You?

For me, the best thing is constant variations in my training, with strict form. I never do the same workout. I change it every week as far as how many reps, sets, exercises I do for whatever body part I'm training that day. I only train one body part a day in the off season so I can fully concentrate and put in 100% effort one that specific muscle. Lately I've been doing high volume training, which is working well, you get great pumps from it too.

What Nutrition Plan Has Worked Best For You?

I've heard so many times you are what you eat statement and it's so true. As much as 85% of your results are based on your diet, and the rest is training. Even though I'm a fitness competitor I diet like a bodybuilder, I eat very clean, basic lean meats, veggies, brown rice, etc. I don't eat refined sugar or bread, pasta and dairy ever. I keep it high protein, moderate carb and moderate fat for the off season, and then pre-contest, I cut the carbs and the fat.

What Supplements Have Given You The Greatest Gains?

I love Muscle Milk because its got the nutrients you need to build muscle all in one! The "good" fats, creatine, glutamine and all the vitamins. Plus it tastes the best!

Why Do You Love Fitness?

I love it because of the whole aspect of having a fitness lifestyle. The gym is my second home, eating clean makes me feel great and training consistently with goals in mind is a true highlight everyday.

What One Tip Would You Give Other Fitness Competitors?

As an amateur I really look up to all the fitness pros, and what they have said to me. "Believe in yourself, stay motivated and work 110% always."

Who Are Your Favorite Fitness Competitors/Bodybuilders?

My favorite male bodybuilders are Shawn Ray and Flex Wheeler; my favorite female bodybuilders are Melissa Coates, Denise Masino and Lenda Murray; and my favorite fitness pros are Timea Majorva and Kelly Ryan.
