How Did You Get Started?
I actually started working out again, after taking about 4 years off after high school while attending college, and came back just doing basic cardio for about 6 months. I then began training with Tiffany Wheatley, a personal trainer at Cardinal Fitness off Southport Road in Indianapolis, Indiana whom also competes in bodybuilding. After attending one of her competitions last year I was determined to prove to myself that I could compete as well. Although I was somewhat small to compete at that point Tiffany was certain we could get the gains we needed with hard work and a clean diet. From that point on it was training twice a day and dieting to get me to my peak shape for my first competition. What Workout Plan Worked Best For You?
I normally do 30-45 minutes of cardio in the mornings 6-7 days a week before eating breakfast and then I weight train normally 5-6 days a week in the evenings. This has been the most effective approach that continues to work for me. What Nutrition Plan Has Worked Best For You?
I currently eat 5-6 small meals a day and follow a zig zag diet which is a manipulation of carbs and fat to reach my goals. This has been the best nutrition plan for me. What Supplements Have Given You The Greatest Gains?
I feel that my greatest gains have come from Beverly International protein powder and other various Beverly International products. Why Do You Love Fitness?
Competing has given me more self confidence than ever before and has changed my lifestyle to a healthier and more enjoyable one. Also it has made me realize that I can achieve anything I want with a little hard work and most importantly dedication. What Are Your Future Bodybuilding Plans?
I am not really sure where I am headed next. I took a couple weeks off after my first competition and have since then been back in the gym twice a day and back on a strict diet to prepare for my next competition possibly in September. What One Tip Would You Give Other Fitness Competitors?
Don't give up! Some days of dieting and training can seem almost impossible but just keep your head up and work as hard as you can. The end result will make you realize that all the hard work you have completed was worth it and most importantly proving to yourself that you can do it is an accomplishment in itself. Who Are Your Favorite Fitness Competitors/Bodybuilders?
I would say my favorite fitness competitors are probably Monica Brant and Jen Hendershott.
