How Did You Get Started?

My brother got me started in bodybuilding. We both worked out as teenagers but I wasn't as serious about it as he was. When I turned 21 I decided to get in shape and really focus this time, so I took 6 months and dedicated myself to getting in shape. I lost about 40 lbs. After that I decided I wanted to compete in bodybuilding, so I took a year to put on size and then dieted down for 16 weeks.

I competed in the granite state open in October 2006 and with my brother's help and a lot of support from my fellow gym members I took first place in the novice division.

What Workout Plan Worked Best For You?

I am always changing my workout schedule. I believe if you stick to a routine too long your body gets use to it and you're wasting workouts when you could be making new gains in size and strength. I stay with a routine no longer than 8 weeks. Right now my schedule is:

Right now I am working with Dr. Joe with great results. He bases his diet on boosting your metabolism, it works great.

Right now I am eating 6 meals a day. I eat every 2-3 hours.
I take in 250 grams of protein, 175 carbs and 40 grams of fat.
I have one high carb day where I take in 350 grams of carbs.

Why do you love Bodybuilding?

It keeps me disciplined. I also believe everybody should have goals to achieve and with bodybuilding it seems when you achieve those goals you realize you can do a little better, so you always have a new goal to achieve. It keeps you at your best.
