How Did You Get Started?

I had been lifting weights and working out for many years before deciding to compete in a bodybuilding show. In 2002, I was training at Lee Haney's fitness center and noticed another member getting ready for a competition; I had a brief conversation with him that peaked my interest. Later I was speaking with Lee about bodybuilding and the idea of competing; he suggested I look at a local promoter name Bruce Johnson who promotes the SNBF.

After doing some research, I had set a date for my first bodybuilding competition. I had initially told myself I was only going to do one show just to see what it was like. Needless to say, I fell in love with the sport/life style and the transformation from weight lifter to bodybuilder was complete. I had no idea, I would enjoy competing so much and I haven't looked back since.

What Workout Plan Worked Best For You?

I try to keep my training simple and effective, as the reps decreases the weight increases.

What Nutrition Plan Has Worked Best For You?

    Meal #1
    5 egg whites - 1 yolks
    5 oz. chicken or turkey
    1/2 grapefruit, 1/2 cantaloupe, or 8 strawberries
    1 tablespoon of flax seed oil

    Meal #2
    6 oz. chicken, turkey or tuna
    1 cup vegetables

    Meal #3
    2 cups salad containing choice of salad vegetables w/ 1 tbs. oil + 1 tbs. vinegar
    8 ounces tuna or other lean protein
    1 carrot

    Meal #4
    4 oz. lean beef or 6 -8 oz. chicken breast, turkey, or fish
    2 egg whites

    Meal #5
    8 oz. chicken, turkey breast, or fish
    1 1/2 cup vegetables
    1 tbs. Flax Oil

    Meal #6
    6 oz. 99% lean ground turkey
    1/2 cup veggies

Monday and Thursday:

I eat a 6th meal at the end of the day: 1 cup oatmeal (precooked) or 1 cup cooked rice, 8 oz sweet potato, 4 oz banana, 1 cup vegetables.

Why do you love Bodybuilding?

I love bodybuilding because it allows me to reach my personal best. To me I'm in competition with myself, in effort to put a better package onstage than I did last time. The focus and dedication it requires has truly made me a better person. Bodybuilding is truly a life style and I love it!

To earn my Natural pro card, acquire sponsors and compete as a natural professional bodybuilder. As well as promoting my own bodybuilding show, in effort to give other budding bodybuilders a chance to live out their dreams.

What One Tip Would You Give Other Bodybuilders?

Focus on making bodybuilding a life style; refine your nutritional plan so it works hand in hand with your workout plan. Do your research, and don't be afraid to ask for help. Be true to the sport, eat smart and train hard!
