Our Amateur Bodybuilder of the Week was...
Brenton Robinson
How Did You Get Started? I got started just working out with friends. I have always been athletic and played baseball and football in school. I also was very competitive in rock climbing for a few years and placed second in teen nationals when I was 15. What Workout Plan Worked Best For You?
Chest/Bi's and Tri's/Legs/Back/Shoulders. I also hit Abs and Calves three days a week. I mix heavy power movements with high intensity supersets and drop sets in every workout. I hit anywhere from 9-24 sets per body part. What Nutrition Plan Has Worked Best For You?
Off-season I'm now eating
300g protein a day with 600g carbohydrates. I eat clean Monday
thru Friday and allow myself cheat meals on the weekend.
When preparing for a show I start 12 weeks out and my diet is very strict. Mainly chicken breast, tilapia, and turkey breast with oatmeal, sweet potatoes and broccoli for carbs. I eat 8 meals a day.
What Supplements Have Given You The Greatest Gains? Meal Replacements, glutamine, and creatine. Why Do You Love Bodybuilding? Bodybuilding is a lifestyle not just a sport. You are a bodybuilder 24/7 365 days a year. Bodybuilding will demand everything you have and more. You have to have heart to be successful. Falling down after your last set on leg day with puke on the front of your shirt thinking to yourself I love this sh*t is what separates a champion from the rest of the pack. I love bodybuilding because it shows you what you're truly made of. What Are Your Future Bodybuilding Plans? I would love to some day turn pro. I am still very new and young to this sport and right now I'm just trying to learn as much as possible. I'm still getting to know my body and see what works for me. Next year I will be competing in Jr. Nationals.
2006 Jr. Nationals - 4th Place, Lightweight 2005 Mr. Oklahoma - 1st, Open Lightweight 2005 NPC Irongames - 1st, Open Middleweight What One Tip Would You Give Other Bodybuilders? Don't let your ego hold you back. Ask for advice. Learn from people with more experience than you. Be humble and work your @ss off. Who Are Your Favorite Bodybuilders? Mark Dugdale is my favorite bodybuilder. I have emailed a few pro's for advice and never received a response from one of them except Mark. He has given me advice through emails on a number of occasions and he is truly a class act! I also like Lee Priest and Dexter Jackson. More Pictures! More Bodybuilder Profiles:
